Dr. Mahdi Moghimi Zand is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering. He is also an Engineering and Research Consultant. Dr. Moghimi Zand's research is multi-disciplinary and revolves around Bio-Medical Eng, Nano, MEMS, Acoustics, Vibrations and Computational Mechanics.
He received his PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Sharif University of Technology (with the highest honor), as the first Ph.D. graduate of the department who has earned the degree in 3 years. Afterwards, he moved to VirginiaTech, Blacksburg, VA.
He has received numerous academic awards, including the Young Professor Grant and Fellowship of National Elite Foundation.
